Why?
Bananas contain potassium, vitamins B6 and C, fiber, and magnesium. They are a good low-sodium, low-cholesterol treat and many dogs love the sweet taste.
How much can dogs have?
A few small slices for a small dog, half a banana max for a large dog. Occasional treat only.
What to watch out for
High in natural sugar and calories — too many can contribute to weight gain or blood sugar issues. Not recommended for diabetic dogs.
