Why?
Plain white or wheat bread is not harmful to dogs without grain allergies or sensitivities. It contains some carbohydrates.
How much can dogs have?
A small piece occasionally is fine.
What to watch out for
Contains empty calories with no nutritional value. Can contribute to weight gain. Never give bread dough — raw dough expands in the stomach and the yeast produces alcohol, which is dangerous. Raisins or nuts in bread are toxic.
