Why?
Lemons and limes contain psoralen and aromatic oils that are toxic to dogs. Even small amounts can cause GI upset, and larger amounts can cause more serious problems including liver damage.
How much can dogs have?
NONE. Keep citrus fruits and their juice away from dogs.
What to watch out for
Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea, drooling, muscle tremors, and potential liver damage. Most dogs will avoid citrus due to the smell but some will eat anything.
