Why?
Cashews are not toxic to dogs unlike macadamia nuts. They contain protein, magnesium, and antioxidants. However they are high in fat and calories.
How much can dogs have?
A very small number (2–3 cashews) as a very occasional treat for large dogs.
What to watch out for
High fat content can cause pancreatitis and weight gain. Never salted or flavored. Keep out of reach — it is easy to give too many. Not appropriate for dogs with pancreatitis history.
