Why?
Plain cooked pork is not toxic to dogs but is very high in fat compared to chicken or turkey. High-fat foods can cause digestive upset and pancreatitis in dogs.
How much can dogs have?
Small amounts of plain cooked pork occasionally. Better to choose leaner proteins.
What to watch out for
Never give ham, bacon, sausage, or other cured/processed pork โ extremely high in sodium and preservatives. Pork bones (especially cooked) splinter and are dangerous.
