Why?
Plain cooked white rice is easy to digest and often recommended by vets for dogs with upset stomachs or diarrhea. It is a good carbohydrate source and pairs well with chicken for the famous sick-dog meal.
How much can dogs have?
Can substitute up to 25% of regular meal when dog has digestive issues. Fine as a regular food topper.
What to watch out for
Plain only — no salt, butter, or seasoning of any kind. Brown rice is also fine but takes longer to digest.
